Whether it's a milestone birthday, an engagement, a work Christmas party or a client event, a standing cocktail-and-canapé function is one of the easiest, most social ways to celebrate, and Reno's makes the whole thing effortless.

We're a private Italian venue on Pirie Street in the Adelaide CBD. By day we're a modern Italian bistro; after dark, the lights come down, the room transforms, and it becomes one of the city's warmest spaces for an event.

What is a cocktail & canapé event? Never planned one? Start here:

If you've never organised a function before, here's the short version. A cocktail event is a standing celebration, no formal sit-down dinner, no seating plan to agonise over. Guests move around, mingle, and drinks flow, while our team circulates with canapés and finger food (think crisp arancini, salt & pepper calamari, mini pizzas and small mains) served throughout the evening.

It's the format people love because it's relaxed and genuinely social. Everyone talks to everyone, the energy stays up, and you can comfortably host more guests than a seated dinner allows. You pick a food package and a drinks package, we handle the rest, setup, service, and pack down included.

How It Works:

1) Get in touch. Send us your date, rough guest numbers and the kind of event you're planning. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.

2) Come and see the space. We're always happy to arrange a site visit so you can picture your event in the room.

3) We build you a proposal. Choose a food package and a drinks package; we tailor the pricing to your guest numbers and selections.

4) Secure your date. A 25% deposit (minimum $1,000) locks in your booking and covers building management, setup and pack-down. The $1,000 is non-refundable and is not credited to your final balance.

5)Lock in the details. Final guest numbers are confirmed 14 days out; full payment is due 7 days before the event. Tell us about any dietary needs and we'll take care of them.

6) Show up and celebrate.** We handle setup, service and pack-down. You enjoy the night.

Picture it: the lights down low, canapés circulating, a signature spritz in hand, and the whole venue exclusively yours. Our team handles the food, the bar and the setup, so nobody in the office has to run the party, you get to actually enjoy it.

Add our Cocktail Add-On for two festive cocktails per guest, choose a grazing board to start, and finish with dolci. We'll tailor a package to your team size and budget.

How do I make a booking enquiry?

How many guests can you host?

Up to 150 for a standing cocktail event, or up to 100 for seated dining.

What's the minimum spend?

Exclusive hire requires a minimum spend of $5,000, applied across food and beverage combined.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible, popular dates, especially in December, book out weeks to months ahead. We'll always try to accommodate last-minute enquiries.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and common allergens, all at no extra charge. Just let us know at least 14 days before your event.

Can we bring our own cake?

Absolutely. BYO celebration cakes are welcome at a $3 per person cakeage fee — we'll refrigerate and plate it for you. (BYO alcohol and other outside food isn't permitted.)

Are cocktails included in the drinks packages?

Add our Cocktail Add-On for +$30 per person and your guests get two cocktails each from our Italian-inspired list.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes, Reno's is fully wheelchair accessible with step-free entry and accessible amenities throughout.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes, a public car park within short walking distance, plus on-street parking. We're also well served by public transport and rideshare.

Can I arrange a site visit?

We encourage it. Contact us to arrange a time to come in and see the space.

Is there a finish time?

All music must conclude by midnight, with guests vacating promptly after.
